Airedale Terrier Rescue of the Virginias (ATRVA) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to the fostering and thoughtful placement of abandoned and owner-surrendered Airedales. When we can, we also offer aid to Airedale mixes.
National Affiliation
ATRVA is the regional--Virginia and West Virginia--chapter of a national network of National Airedale Rescue (NAR) groups,
working under the auspices and guidelines of the registered non-profit
Rescue and Adoption Committee of the Airedale Club of America.
If you are outside the ATRVA area, this site linked here lists contacts
for NAR groups covering other states.
Our Funding
Every penny ATRVA receives in donation is used to obtain the veterinary care many of our dogs require for successful adoptions.
On average, adoption fees [link to contract] cover less than half of these necessary veterinary interventions.
Who we are
Our volunteers shoulder the costs of daily care from food to grooming to transportation. By caring for rescues in our homes we are able to assess for temperament and physical condition.
