Sex: Female, spayed

Age: 10+ yo (best estimate)

Weight: 50 lbs.

Compatibility: Very sweet-natured, good with dogs and children. Reputedly good with cats but not tested in Rescue.

Home with one other or no other dog preferred.

Health: Deaf, blind in one eye, and requires continuing, albeit inexpensive, medications to treat urinary incontinence and eye condition.

Inge’s owner loved her but had serious health issues of her own that resulted in the neglect of Inge’s general condition and specific veterinary needs. Since being relinquished into Rescue this past October, these have been fully addressed by her dedicated ATRVA foster with the aid of her veterinarian, but, sadly, treatment necessitated the removal of one of Inge’s eyes.

However, being deaf and navigating with only one eye has not slowed Inge down. She has flourished under this care and attention and now embraces life with characteristic Airedale gusto, belying her 10+ years of age. She is housetrained, of course, and good on a leash--even good walking off leash in quiet neighborhoods. She greets everyone she meets—human and canine alike—with an offer of friendship. Now, she just needs a loving human companion to share the next chapter of her life.
